For A Moment In Time
This project began as a concept I developed during the middle of the semester driven by the question: What if history was rearranged and mixed together? This project explores those what ifs by incorporating elements from Egyptian motifs, Pop Art, religious iconography etc.
Across the series I implemented a variety of different editing techniques, Photoshop effects, numerous locations and twelve different costumes that are location and model specific designed by me. I used Photoshop extensively as it allowed me to incorporate specific visual cues to each specific era.
One of the challenges when shooting the whole project was that it was within a six week time frame which made me focus on the small details, and meticulously planning all of my shoots in advance. This project allowed me to discover that I have a broader skillset than I originally thought. With traditionally trained art skills from years of classes, as well as a very good idea of Photoshop techniques and an interest in costume design shaping this project.
For a Moment in Time is a collection of all the what ifs in history made up in my head. As a group they allow your mind to form a narrative all together, while individually they offer their own story to be told. I hope my work reaches an audience that notices the minute detail within every one and how that plays into the overarching theme of wonder and how I created that.
